I’d love your help, but NOT your Money…
It’s a silly little headline for this article, but many have asked lately “Where can we donate to your campaign?”, and “How can we help?”…. and I want you all to know that I’m so very thankful for the many folks who have reached out and encouraged me in this journey, and have offered to help and to donate toward my campaign for Hancock County Sheriff.
And I really would cherish your help in the coming months (read more on that below)… but I’m doing something many will find just plan WEIRD: I will NOT be accepting any donations or gifts to the Campaign anytime soon, and for a few good reasons…
First… I don’t ever want to be accused in the future of pandering or showing favoritism of any type to someone who has contributed financially to my campaign, nor do I ever want to be seen as having a ‘bias’ of any type toward a financial donor…. So if I simply don’t accept donations and don’t put on any fundraising activities, that issue is eliminated altogether and I can operate ‘above reproach’ in this area from the very beginning.
Second… I’m wanting to run this campaign as fiscally-conservatively as possible, with as LITTLE spent on advertising as practical. And the goal here is to make a point that GREAT things can be done with a little creativity and effort, without breaking the bank. Money is not always the solution. THIS is how I want to run the Sheriffs Department – as fiscally conservative as possible – and the BEST way I can show my dedication to that mentality is to show that I’m being fiscally conservative with my Campaign and it’s financials. (And so far, this website, branding/logo, and everything I’ve spent has added up to $127.23 to date… It really is POSSIBLE to do a LOT with a little).
Third… Times are tough, and I simply don’t want to tax anyone financially when it comes to this campaign. But I’ll gladly take your efforts! 🙂
I really DO need your help in other ways, though!
In the coming weeks, I’ll be driving all through Hancock County knocking on people’s doors; reconnecting with old friends, and making new ones. And I’m going to try my HARDEST to get to every voter I can…. But I’ll need some reinforcements.
Would you be willing to help in the following ways?
- Talk to folks YOU KNOW about this Campaign, and encourage them to read the material that is being published here (and elsewhere)…
- Share this website and the campaign’s Facebook page with your friends, families, and even your enemies for that matter…
- Share a personal Endorsement, Testimony, or Character Reference that we can use on this website (See the form below).
- Reach out to your news media friends and put them on the scent to this campaign…ask them to cover it…
- If you own a business in Hancock County, help me plan and host a “Meet The Candidate” event…
We just really need to get the word out in the coming weeks, and I hope you’ll be willing to help advocate on my behalf. I’m sure there are more ways to help as well…those are just off the top of my head, so I’m open for more ideas too!
